I was born and raised in Scottsdale Arizona and have had a passion for creation as long as I can remember. I was maybe about 10 years old when I was doing my first Visual Effects shots. Using simple jump cuts and the top of the line technology of my Nintendo 3DS I was able to stitch clips together to make it look like I was teleporting around my room with nothing but a snap of my fingers.

But it wouldn’t be until around high school when I really start to find my passion. I joined the TV & Film class at my high school and put together the school news in class while making skits and spoof anime openings with my friends on the side. Through those 4 years I learned that I loved the creative process of being behind the camera and bringing my visions and those of my friends to life.

It wasn’t long after that when I found myself at Arizona State, pursuing my degree in film. I started out with the goal of being an editor and focused on that for 2 years before the creative pull of VFX pulled me towards my true calling. Soon after the switch I had the wonderful opportunity to work on the student short film “System Booting” directed by my good friend David Debry.

I had worked on a number of different student films by this time but System Booting was the first real project I was on that needed visual effects. It was an ambitious project for what it was, a student film with a crew of a little over 10 people. But through a lot of planning and collaborations we were able to make a Sci Fi that was moderately believable. System Booting was a huge step in my development of my skills as a VFX artist, the film won “Best Visual Effects” at the Association of Filmmakers at ASU and it was the first project I was genuinely proud of.

This is all the more reason why I’m excited to be working on the Sci Fi indie short film The Vagabond. The film is currently still in post production and is coming along really well. If you want to learn more about the project click the link below.
